Trident Automatic De-Fluxing Systems are available in a variety of discharge

Discharge Options:

Trident is available in three discharge configurations. Completely Zero Discharge solutions are available through use of the Eco-Cycler (included with Trident ZDO package). The Eco-Cycler captures re-dionizes and re-distributes rinse water for the Trident de-fluxing systems and alleviates the need for a drain. Trident LDO includes a closed loop wash solution and an open loop rinse section. In this system, wash solution is reused while fresh DI rinse water is sprayed and drained. The Trident ECO allows for single dose washing and sends all solution to drain.
and throughput

Throughput Configurations:

Trident is available in four throughput configurations. Single, double, triple and quadruple process chambers are available to correspond with door open time and throughput requirements. The Trident High Yield de-fluxing series (DUO, TRIO, QUAD) can provide a cost effective solution for high volume de-fluxing applications while maintaining the process control of the Trident systems. Each chamber is controlled independently and can provide a flexible cleaning option.
configurations and provide wash, rinse, cleanliness monitoring, drying, and SPC processes. Trident is capable of removing residues, including all lead and lead-free flux residues from low stand-off component spaces. These systems can be configured to match specific production needs.

Removing residues from an assembly is a three step process: wash, rinse and dry. During the Wash Cycle residue is solubalized/placed into solution. Trident's stainless steel plumbing is compatible with a variety of chemicals and the system is capable of storing, mixing, heating, spraying and re-using a chosen chemical during the wash cycle. Cleaning profiles are entered and stored Through use of a Windows 7 PC computer equipped with a touchscreen interface.

Touchscreen Interface:

Trident is controlled by a Windows 7 PC computer equipped with a touchscreen interface. Process data including estimated completion time, cleanliness monitoring values, and operating temperatures are displayed via this interface. The software includes multi-layered password protection and prevents unauthorized program changes. Programmable maintenance reminders, remote viewing, unlimited recipes and troubleshooting features are all included.

The Rinse cycle is used to remove wash solution from the assemblies and replace that solution with high quality de-ionized water. Trident's spray system

Spray System:

Trident is equipped with an asymmetrical fan-jet spray system. Twin stainless steel counter rotating spray bars featuring twenty stainless steel fan-jet nozzles project precision-diffused wash solution and rinse water onto an oscillating board rack. This spray system was implemented to deliver controlled fluid energy underneath fine pitch components.
was designed to reduce fluid droplet sizes and distribute a spray into tight impingement areas. A built-in cleanliness monitoring

Cleanliness Monitoring:

All Trident models are equipped with a built-in cleanliness monitoring feature. The systems will continue to rinse assemblies until a desired resistivity level is achieved. This process monitoring tool will indicate and record when residual wash solution has been removed from the cleaning chamber and can be used to assist with Resistivity of Solvent Extract (ROSE) testing.
feature will continue to rinse assemblies until a desired resistivity level is achieved and a comprehensive Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Statistical Process Control (SPC):

Trident features a comprehensive Statistical Process Control (SPC) system. Alpha/Numeric recipe names, process times and temperatures, set and actual rinse resistivity levels and other valuable data are stored automatically. Built in assembly barcode scanning allows all of the SPC data to be tied to a specific assembly serial/lot number. Advanced search features allow the SPC data to be viewed on screen, sent to a wireless printer, exported via USB and viewed via network protocols.

The following process data is automatically captured:
• Assembly serial number
• Date and time of batch (start and completion)
• Programmed wash solution temperature
• Actual wash solution temperature
• Maximum quantity of programmed rinse cycles
• Actual quantity of rinse cycles
• Programmed cleanliness value
• Actual cleanliness value
• Pass and fail cleanliness status
• Programmed drying time
• Actual drying time
• Programmed drying temperature
• Actual drying temperature
• Operator name
• Operator notes
• Equipment notifications (if any)

Users may utilize the aSPC software's advanced search capability to search for specific assemblies that have previously been cleaned and tested. Users may enter an individual assembly serial number, date ranges, operator names, recipe names or pass/fail status for access to specific SPC data records. Additionally, users may view or print all SPC data records. Trident's aSPC software is also equipped with an export feature, allowing all SPC data to be exported as an .XLS file for import into Excel® or other data capturing software. Trident's aSPC software stores the captured data in an industry standard SQL database for easy data integration into third-party software. Trident's aSPC software is compatible with 1D and 2D USB barcode scanners.
system records alpha/numeric recipe names, process times, temperatures, set and actual rinse resistivity levels and other valuable data.

Trident's drying system

Drying System:

Trident's drying system utilizes a combination of radiant and convection heat to thoroughly remove residual moisture from both the surface area and underneath component spaces of assemblies. A 1400 CFM blower circulates filtered-heated air through the chamber, while a radiant heater supplies heating energy from below the basket. With the correct drying profile, assemblies can exit the machine drier than prior to cleaning.
was designed to remove residual water from an assembly. During this portion of the cycle, filtered convection and radiant heating systems are used to remove moisture from the surface of an assembly and in between board layers.

Which flux types is Trident capable of removing?

Trident is capable of removing all flux types in both leaded and pb-free applications.

Is Trident available in a fully closed loop design?

Yes. Trident ZDO is 100% closed loop. Wash solution is recycled internally and the rinse solution is captured and re-dionized in the Eco-Cycler. Running and Eco-Cycler with the Trident system alleviates any drain requirements and is our most environmentally conscious design.

What is the largest board size that can be cleaned in Trident?

Trident's standard board rack can accommodate assemblies with dimensions up to 19" x 20" (48cm x 50cm). With custom fixturing, Trident can accommodate assemblies up to 26" x 20" (66cm x 50cm).

Is Trident available in a DI water only design?

Yes. Trident CLO is fully closed loop and utilizes only DI water as a cleaning solution.

I want to use fresh chemical for every wash cycle. Is there a Trident design that is
    compatible with this requirement?

Yes. All Trident models have the ability to use fresh chemical with every cycle. Trident ECO was specifically designed for this type of application.

Will a "batch" machine keep up with my throughput requirements?

This answer depends on a few variables. Trident is available in four throughput configurations. The High Yield series of Tridents (DUO, TRIO and QUAD) allow for higher throughput volumes while maintaining the power, chemical and water efficiency of our batch cleaners.

What are the Power requirements for this system?

Tridents are available in 208, 240 and 400 VAC configurations. They are all 3 phase and pull 40 amps per chamber.

What are the dimensions of the Trident system?

Trident is 44.5" x 44" x 79". Each additional chamber adds approximately one more length to the overall dimensions.

Where are these systems manufactured?

All Aqueous Technologies products are manufactured in Southern California, USA.

How long is a typical cycle?

Trident's average cycle time is 30 minutes for wash, rinse and dry.

Which de-fluxing chemicals are compatible with Trident?

Trident's plumbing is 100% stainless steel and compatible with most modern de-fluxing chemicals that are soluble in water. Please consult an Aqueous Technologies team member for specific recommendations.
